Quandry

Right. This house malarky has been going on for a while now. Here is the scenario, which I'm a bit befuddled by.

Found a house through the speedflatmating thing. Nice area, nice house living with 2 nice girls.

Was supposed to move in today.

But am not doing. Reason: The house contract which has the current residents' names on it officially ends on 4th October and due to legal reasons the guy moving out didn't want me to move in incase I set the room on fire etc as his name was still on the lease and he would be liable.

Bearing in mind that the two girls had already chosen me to live in their house, and they knew that I would effectively be homeless after today if I didn't move in I found it a bit strange that they didn't offer to help me out, by saying for example 'why don't you move in anyway, we'll call you our guest/you can sleep in the living room' etc.

Other little things I've found a bit strange too. One of the girls didn't want me to move in while she wasn't at the house. So despite her being away at home last weekend she said she wanted me to move in on today, (ie mid week not terribly convenient) when all the current residents would be there. She was happy for me to move my stuff in over the weekend she just didn't want me actually sleeping there till today. Odd? I thought so.

There are two possible schools of thought here. One, they're nice girls and they're just a bit young (23) and green (only having lived in London for a year) and they want to do everythign by the book.

Or, something else and bad.

20sixers, I am in a quandry. Do I move in despite the weirdness described above? Do I accept their inexperience and deal with the fact that I'm feeling quite negative about them and move in anyway? Or do I start the whole hideous search again...
